SKATING ON THIN ICE
John Benkart, left, and Ethan Mincer take time after work Wednesday to try out the ice at the outdoor skating rink on Castle Creek Drive in Seven Fields. The rink opened for the season on Wednesday. There is no cost, and use of the rink is on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the rules posted by the borough. Helmets and gloves are recommended, and skaters younger than 12 must be accompanied by a guardian. The rink is unsupervised, but has posted hours of from sunrise to 10 p.m. every day.
