Police track down pair of robbery suspects

A pair of suspected robbers stuck together and got caught by the police.

The Butler men suspected in a robbery gone wrong left the intended target with a gunshot wound.

They both are looking at a list of felony charges including attempted first-degree murder and were the subjects of a police manhunt after Saturday's shooting in Evans City.

But they headed back to their hometown. And they stayed together. That's where and how Butler police found them.

Now the duo — Jahote C. Dorsey Jr., 21, and Joshua Norris, 30 — are together in the Butler County Prison.

The men, according to Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police, teamed up Saturday night to rob Oliver Philogene at his apartment on East Main Street in Evans City.

They came armed with a 9 mm pistol and the intent to steal drugs, police said.

But the 21-year-old Philogene fought back. When Norris allegedly held the pistol to the victim's head, Philogene grabbed the weapon, court documents said. The gun went off, hitting him in the right forearm.Police finally found the pair Tuesday afternoon in Butler. Now Dorsey faces felony charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder of the first degree, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, and robbery. Due to the seriousness of the charges, he is being held without bail.Norris was jailed on the state police warrant, but he will be charged with the same crimes as Dorsey, according to Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police Chief Joe McCombs.
