Butler PoliceSunday — James A. Wilson, 60, of Butler was charged with felony counts of robbery and retail theft after he allegedly pushed a store manager while attempting to steal groceries from Friedman’s Supermarket on West Brady Street.Police said the manager saw Wilson put several items in his jacket and confronted him, which prompted Wilson to allegedly push the manager and attempt to run.Several bystanders restrained Wilson until officers arrived. A background check indicated Wilson had multiple other retail theft convictions.2:43 p.m. Dec. 17 — Nicholas C. Feitl, 28, of Butler was arrested on a bench warrant after police responded to a reported fight involving six men at the Light of Life on West North Street.Feitl and Michael G. Watt, 39, of Butler also were both cited with disorderly conduct.
Butler Twp. Police9:34 a.m. Monday — Aaron Thompson, 24, of Butler was Tasered by police and arrested after he allegedly resisted arrest after police responded to a disturbance on Homewood Drive.Police said Thompson was irate with officers during the incident and did not comply with orders.He was placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail. He was also cited for disorderly conduct and trespass.
State Police, Butler8:20 p.m. Tuesday — An SUV driven by Luke W. Aaron, 38, of Cranberry Township crashed into a guard rail on the Route 228 southbound ramp to Interstate 79.Police said Aaron suffered a minor injury to his hand. He was cited for a traffic lane violation.
State Police, Franklin11 a.m. Monday — Michael R. Foreman, 62, of Rimersburg was injured after crashing his pickup truck at the intersection of routes 478 and 38 in Richland Township, Clarion County.Police said Foreman was driving his pickup truck on Route 478 when he drove through a stop sign at the intersection with Route 38 and crashed head on into an embankment.Foreman was taken to UPMC Northwest with unknown injuries. He was cited for a stop sign violation.
