Butler Twp. Police12:26 a.m. Sunday — John R. Harvey, 24, of Sarver was cited for careless driving and other traffic lane violations after his vehicle allegedly collided with numerous mailboxes on East McQuistion Road.11 p.m. Saturday — A vehicle driven by a 17-year-old girl crashed along Route 8 near Comfort Lane. Police said the girl was distracted and drove off the road, striking a guardrail. She was cited with careless driving. The vehicle was towed.8:58 a.m. Saturday — Quay D. Steffan, 40, of Butler was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and other traffic violations after he allegedly fled from a minor vehicle accident on Whitestown Road.Wednesday — Two vehicles driven by Kayla Guthrie, 27, of Lyndora and Cara Geibel, 31, of Butler collided at the intersection of Young Avenue and North Boundary Street.Guthrie’s vehicle was towed. She was cited for a stop sign violation.
State Police, ButlerFriday — Police said unknown suspects left four garbage bags containing deer carcasses along Euclid School Road in Clay Township.Thursday — Daniel Cervone, 22, of Butler is facing a felony drug charge after police found suspected marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Mercer Road in Butler Township.Police said there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search revealed five small baggies of marijuana, a smoking pipe and other suspected drug paraphernalia, police said.
State Police, Mercer4:15 a.m. Friday — Police said Austin K. Fogal, 21, of Greenville was charged with DUI, hit and run and an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after he allegedly crashed a vehicle into a tree along Georgetown Road in Sandy Creek Township, Mercer County.Police said Fogal crashed just before the intersection with Route 19. Fogal did not have permission to use the vehicle and fled the accident on foot, police said.Police later found him walking along Route 19 and said he was intoxicated. He was taken to the Greensville hospital but refused a blood test. He was then taken to Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail.
State Police, Kittanning9:15 a.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Evelyn M. Murphy, 22, of Kittanning crashed along Ferne Drive in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.Police said the vehicle’s brake system failed, causing the vehicle to go through a yard in the 800-block of the road. Police said Murphy and a passenger were able to safely jump from the vehicle before it went over a hillside and struck a tree.
Grove City Police1:10 p.m. Thursday — Grove City Police were advised of a burglary that occurred at a residence in the 200 block of Harvard St.Police said sometime between 6:30 a.m. and noon, unknown suspects entered the home and removed cash and silver coins worth $950. Police are investigating.
