5:14 a.m. Nov. 25 — Aaron C. Bryant, 21, of Pittsburgh was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana after he allegedly fell asleep while stopped at the intersection of Main and Wayne streets.

Police said they found Bryant sleeping in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, which was stopped in the right lane on West Wayne Street.

Police said the vehicle was still in drive but Bryant had his foot on the brake. The driver’s side window was down and police woke Bryant by shaking him.

There was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and Bryant had ashes on his lap. When asked if he had any drugs in the vehicle, he told officers: “I smoked it.”

A field sobriety test was not done because it was about 20 degrees outside and Bryant was wearing shorts and sandals, police said. He agreed to a blood test.

On Thursday the results of that test showed Bryant tested positive for THC, the main chemical found in marijuana. Officers also found a small amount of marijuana in the glove box of his vehicle. Charges were filed Friday.
