Teen leads police this morning on 100 mph chase

CENTER TWP — A 19-year-old woman is accused of leading state and local police on a chase that topped 100 mph on several roads in adjoining townships.

The suspect, Brandi Zediker of Butler Township, also shut off the lights of her orange Dodge Challenger during the chase early this morning in a bid to lose pursing police, authorities said.

She was eventually arrested and faces charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police and numerous traffic violations.

Police said Zediker refused to pull over about 1 a.m. today when troopers tried to stop her on Benbrook Road in Center Township for several traffic offenses.

Instead of stopping, she raced away at speeds that at times hit triple digits. The chase continued into Butler Township on Route 68 westbound, where a township officer spotted the suspect’s speeding car.

The officer joined behind troopers in the pursuit that went onto Whitestown Road and Meridian Road.

The teenager, police said, switched off the headlights while traveling south on Meridian Road. She turned onto Deer Run Road, just past the Butler Farm Show, and finally stopped in the yard of a home.

Troopers removed her from the car without incident, police said.

Police don’t have a motive for why she did not stop, but records show she has a suspended driver’s license.
