BC3 women fall on road, 76-66PITTSBURGH — The Butler County Community College women's basketball team lost a six-point lead in the final four minutes in a 76-66 loss to Point Park University's JV team Tuesday afternoon at the road.Julia Baxter led the Pioneers with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Tiffany Montgomery (17) and Alycia Brehm (11) also scored in double figures for BC3.
3 SRU players named All-AmericanWICHITA FALL, Texas — Slippery Rock University football players Cory Tucker, Marcus Martin and Teven Williams were all chosen to the Conference Commissioner's Association Division II All-America team.Tucker, who is a senior offensive lineman, was named first team and received the most votes out of every lineman in the country.Martin, a defensive end, and Williams, a linebacker, were both chosen for the second team.
Duquesne women beat SRU, 79-54PITTSBURGH — Slippery Rock University's women's basketball team took on Division I Duquesne Tuesday night at the Palumbo Center and took a 79-54 loss.Ciara Patterson led The Rock (7-4) with 15 points. Duquesne outrebounded SRU 50-35 and held a 30-16 advantage in points in the paint.Lexi Carpenter also scored 10 points for The Rock.
Plum hoop coach under suspensionPLUM TWP — Plum High School boys basketball coach Ron Richards has been temporarily suspended by the school for alleged verbal abuse during Friday night's win over Woodland Hills.Franklin did not coach his team during Tuesday night's 45-36 loss to McKeesport.Plum is 4-1 on the season. Richards is 233-141 in his coaching career at Plum.
