Police have identified the woman who died early this morning in a vehicular crash on Route 8 as Lindsey Dickey, 22, of Gibsonia.

Police said she lost control of her car and headed the wrong way on Route 8. The car then overturned near Hansen Avenue in Butler Township.

Butler County Coroner William Young III pronounced Dickey dead at the scene of the crash shortly before 3 a.m. He said she died of “blunt force trauma” but would not elaborate.

An autopsy is not planned, Young said.

Butler Township police are investigating the wreck.

Authorities said the car was traveling north on Route 8 when for an unknown reason the driver crossed the median just north of Hansen Avenue and headed into the southbound lanes. The vehicle reportedly went up and down an embankment before rolling onto its roof and catching fire.

The South Butler Volunteer Fire Department was called to assist.
