Thursday — Jennifer E. McCabe, 29, of Butler was charged with a felony count of forgery, as well as charges of theft by deception, theft of services, theft and receiving stolen property after she allegedly used a counterfeit $100 bill to buy a pizza from a business June 22.

McCabe was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.

Nov. 23 — A Walmart employee is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly stealing more than $4,000 from the store in Butler Commons.

Buffie L. Deal, 41, of Hilliards was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received following an internal investigation by the business.

Deal was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.

Thursday — A car driven by Austen P. Thomas, 19, of Saxonburg crashed on Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. Thomas’ vehicle left the road when he was going around a curve. The car slid through the intersection with O’Hara Road then struck an embankment. The car had moderate damage and was towed. Thomas was not wearing a seat belt but was not injured. He was cited with traffic violations.

6 a.m. Nov. 29 — John Sudano, 46, of Winfield Township reported someone attempted to break into a shed on his Winfield Road property. Value of the damage was $50. Anyone with information is to call 724-284-8100.

4 p.m. Nov. 23 — Rachael Sinibaldi, 22, of Brady Township reported a known suspect entered her Muddy Creek Drive home through an unlocked window and stole $580, a gold necklace and $80 worth of lottery tickets.

4 p.m. Nov. 21 — A car driven by Allison R. Mathews, 19, of Butler had to be towed after she lost control of it on Benbrook Road in Center Township and struck a mailbox.

Police said Mathews’ car left the road around a bend and hit a mailbox. She continued to drive south on Benbrook for about half a mile before stopping. She was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Thursday — Richard G. Wagner, 41, of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, reported someone broke into his home on Route 268 and stole three firearms from a gun cabinet.

The burglary occurred sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.

4:19 p.m. Thursday — A 65-year-old man walked in on a burglary in his Murphy Hollow Road home in Burrell Township, Armstrong County.

Police said the suspect entered the home by kicking in a basement window. The owner of the home returned when the suspect was there and a confrontation occurred. The victim was able to recover the stolen property, but the suspect fled on foot toward Garrett’s Run Road.

The suspect is described as 6-foot, 170 pounds. He was wearing jeans, a light colored jacket, hunting boots and a backpack.
