Philomena Hopkins
Philomena Hopkins, 84, of Evans City passed away on Wednesday at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heather and the staff of Creekside Manor at St. John's Specialty Care Center.
Born Dec. 14, 1930, in Coraopolis, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Veneziano) Basile.
Philomena was an active member of St. Matthias Catholic Church in Evans City, where she belonged to the Christian Mothers group and assisted with fundraising for Ritzert Hall. Above all, she devoted her time to her children and her granddaughter. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, David D. (Darla) Hopkins and Douglas G. Hopkins, both of Evans City; her granddaughter, Emily Hopkins; and her sister, Mary Frances (Richard) Mauk of Coraopolis.
In addition to her parents, Philomena was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David G. Hopkins, who passed away on Dec. 25, 1990, and her sister, Katherine Harter.
HOPKINS — The family of Philomena Hopkins, who died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, will welcome friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A blessing service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
