Butler Police2:05 p.m. Friday — A grandmother and two young grandchildren were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries following a vehicle accident on East Jefferson Street.Authorities at the scene believe it was a single-vehicle accident. The woman’s car suffered front-end damage to its passenger side. The woman’s name was not available.1:09 a.m. Nov. 3 — Ryan Burd, 33, of Butler was charged with DUI and other traffic violations after police stopped him for failing to stop at a stop sign.Police said Burd was driving northbound on Mercer Street when he failed to stop at its intersection with West New Castle Street.Burd then made an abrupt turn into a parking lot near Whitmire Avenue and tried to walk away from the vehicle when the police cruiser turned in to make a traffic stop.After Burd was ordered back to his vehicle, the officer noticed the inspection on Burd’s car was altered. A 12 was placed over the 7 on the front side of the sticker, while December was written over July on the reverse side.Police said Burd showed impairment and failed a field sobriety test. A breath test was later done and had a result of .142 percent blood-alcohol content. The legal limit to drive in the state is .08 percent.

Butler Twp. PoliceWednesday — A vehicle driven by Madison Unverzgat, 18, of Slippery Rock crashed into the back of a vehicle driven by Maria Shreve, 36, of Butler on Decatur Drive. Police said Shreve had stopped for a deer on the road and Unverzgat was unable to stop. Unverzgat was cited for following too closely.2:42 a.m. Oct. 31 — James Francis, 18, of Butler was charged with DUI after police responded to reports of a man urinating in an outdoor ashtray at McDonalds in Butler Crossing. Francis also was charged with driving with a suspended license, disorderly conduct and underage drinking. A 15-year-old female passenger was cited for underage drinking.

State Police, Butler1 a.m. Tuesday — An unknown suspect fled the scene of a one-vehicle accident on Muddy Creek Drive in Clay Township. Police said the driver of the unknown vehicle drove off the road and struck a utility pole, shearing it in half.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 724-284-8100.
