SLIPPERY ROCK — The Butler County and Grove City chambers of commerce will present a free seminar Nov. 20 for small business owners and start-ups looking for funding.

The seminar will be from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Robert M. Smith Student Center at Slippery Rock University, 107 Central Loop.

Attendees will learn about what lenders look for when giving out loans, different financing options, partnering for a deal and the basics of crowdfunding investing. They also will be able to meet one-on-one with the event's speakers.

NexTier Inc., the parent of NexTier Bank, has named Tito Lima as its new chief financial officer.

Lima was executive vice president of finance for National Penn Bancshares.

He received his bachelor's in finance from Robert Morris University.

[naviga:h3]County chief clerk on state panel[/naviga:h3]

Amy Wilson, Butler County chief clerk and director of administration, has been appointed vice chairman on the Academy for Excellence in County Government Committee of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.

The committee develops curriculum and related policy matters for the Academy for Excellence in County Government, a certificate training program for county officials.

Wilson of Center Township completed her doctoral coursework in the public-sector administration and leadership studies program at Indiana (Pa.) University in May. She has worked in the county commissioners office since 2008, and has been chief clerk since 2012.

JEFFERSON TWP — Jim Limbaugh, chairman of the Concordia Lutheran Ministries board of directors announced the election of six board members at the annual delegate meeting on Nov. 8.

The board members, who will serve a three-year term, are:

David Alsing of Irwin, retired 12 years after 39 years with Westinghouse. He has been on the Concordia board for 25 years.

Michael Fiffik of Franklin Park, a partner at Welch, Gold, Siegel & Fiffik. Fiffik has been a member of the Concordia board for six years.

Peter Fisher of Castle Shannon, a former director of technology development with the Ben Franklin Partnership. He has been on the Concordia board for three years.

Stephen Johnson of Oakland is the executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Consol Energy. He has been on the Concordia board as chairman for nine years.

Dr. Jennifer Lewis of Canonsburg.

Russell Lucas of Wexford, an attorney with Campbell, Durrant, Beatty, Palombo & Miller. He has been on the Concordia board for three years.

There are 18 board members who represent 33 Lutheran churches of the Missouri Synod in Western Pennsylvania.

[naviga:h3]KFC to deliver buckets chicken[/naviga:h3]

NEW YORK — KFC said it will start delivering its buckets of fried chicken to customers in two cities.

It will be the first time the chicken chain has delivered in the United States. Starting Thursday, people in Los Angeles and San Francisco will be able to have food delivered. KFC said it expects to expand the delivery service into Houston by the end of this year. More cities may come later.

KFC is working with online delivery company DoorDash to deliver; customers will have to make orders through DoorDash's app or website.
