Butler Twp PoliceTuesday — Police filed charges against Jennifer M. Hoffman, 36, of Butler stemming from a suspected heroin overdose about 12:35 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Sheetz store on Route 68, where she passed out on the rest room floor.Hoffman is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.7:41 p.m. Monday — Norman Reges, 42, of Butler was arrested after allegedly violating a protection from abuse order after contacting the victim at a Moraine Pointe Plaza restaurant.According to court documents, Reges also sent derogatory and threatening Facebook posts to the alleged victim, a Summit Township woman.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Reges on a charge of indirect criminal contempt. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.10 a.m. Sunday — A 73-year-old Evans City woman reported that her car was struck by another vehicle while it was parked at the Eat’n Park restaurant on New Castle Road. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.1:42 a.m. Sunday — Clecy E. Thompson, 25, of Butler allegedly assaulted another man in the parking lot of the 11th Frame Bar & Grill on Fairground Hill Road. The alleged victim, 22, of Butler, suffered minor injuries.Thompson is charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Grove City Police, Tuesday — A thief stole a red, auger-type Troy Built snow thrower from a storage shed on the 300 block of College Avenue. The theft happened between 6 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

State Police, Butler9:01 p.m. Monday — A car caught fire and burned after it hit a deer on Interstate 79 just north of Ehrman Road in Cranberry Township. The driver, Chinhwa W. Shindledecker, 48, of Harmony, and her passenger, an 11-year-old girl, were not hurt.Shindledecker’s car, a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, was destroyed.6:30 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Deborah J. Marin, 57, of Grove City struck a deer on I-79 in Muddy Creek Township.Nov. 4 — About $700 worth of tools were stolen from a garage and shed during a burglary at a Willow Road home in Summit Township. The break-in happened between Oct. 28 and Nov. 4. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Oct. 28 — A would-be burglar broke a window in a failed bid to get into a home on Saxonburg Road in Summit Township. The attempted break-in happened between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The home had about $50 in damage. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

State Police, Kittanning2:30 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Abraham N. Almanza, 20, of Pittsburgh struck a car driven by Stephen M. Russo, 49, of Butler on Route 268 about three-tenths of a mile west of Cedar Drive in East Franklin Township. The crash happened as Almanza was backing out of a driveway.5:28 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Tyler A. Stenman, 23, of Home, Indiana County, struck a deer on Route 422 just east of Graff Farm Road in West Franklin Township.
