High winds cause scattered electrical outages
Strong winds have caused multiple electrical outages across Butler County.
More than 900 West Penn Power customers are without power in Clay Township, according to the company’s website.
Buffalo Township has more than 400 customers without power, while Slippery Rock, Cherry and Brady townships each have 75 to 150 customers without power.
More than a dozen other townships have up to 50 customers without power.
The company has not issued an estimated restoration time for the outages.
There have been more than 10 reports of utility wires down made to county Emergency Services this afternoon, according to dispatch reports.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory until 10 p.m. across most of Western Pennsylvania.
The southwest wind is blowing 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
