John Cyprian

A familiar face to Butler County veterans made his national television debut, but it was a small one.

John Cyprian, director of Butler County Veterans Services, was perched behind contestant row on “The Price is Right” episode that aired Monday.

“It was a blast,” said Cyprian, who can be seen through the episode but was not selected as a contestant.

Cyprian said the episode was filmed in August, when he was in California visiting his younger brother, Kevin, and his family.

While there, Cyprian did a number of tourist activities including visiting Hollywood Boulevard and the Reagan Library. The trip to CBS studios in Los Angeles was “on a whim,” he said.

The “Price is Right” studio is only about an hour from his brother’s house so they gave it a go.

“I’m going back in January when Kevin renews his wedding vows,” Cyprian said. “We’re definitely going to try to get on the show again.”
