Butler mulls anticipation note
BUTLER TWP — The Butler School District will consider taking out a tax and revenue anticipation note for $16 million from the First National Bank to help the district pay its short-term obligations while waiting for the state to approve a new budget.
A bank representative spoke at Monday night’s school board meeting. Debbie Brandstetter, business manager, said the district is financially solvent without state money until at least February.
She recommended the board approve the note at its Nov. 16 meeting.
However, board members Jim Keffalas and Bill Halle want to hear from other banks to compare offers.
Because of that, Brandstetter will get proposals from other banks, and the board is expected to vote on the matter in December.
