4:50 p.m. Thursday — There was a four-vehicle accident on Evans City Road just east of Benbrook Road.

Police said a westbound vehicle driven by Kimberly Wheeler, 35, of Connoquenessing struck the back of a vehicle driven by Jennifer Goldinger, 44, of Saxonburg.

The collision forced Goldinger’s vehicle into the back of another car in front of her driven by Cassandra Shaffer, 19, of Harmony. Shaffer’s car then hit the vehicle in front of it, driven by Evette Hoffman, 27, of Renfrew.

Wheeler was evaluated at the scene for head and neck pain, but refused treatment. No charges were listed on the police report.

12:45 a.m. Friday — Christopher E. Austin, 39, of Freeport was arrested for suspected DUI after he was stopped for traveling the wrong direction on South Jefferson Street in Kittanning.

8:41 p.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Beth A. Stello, 51, of Freeport struck a deer on Route 28 near its intersection with Bakerstown Road in Harrison Township, Allegheny County.

Both Stello and her passenger, Elaine R. Korbeck, 50, of Sarver, suffered minor injuries, but were not taken to a hospital.
