CLINTON TWP — Firefighters quickly extinguished a tractor fire Tuesday afternoon before it could spread and cause more damage.

Saxonburg Fire Chief Chris Ballina said a garden tractor caught fire about 2 p.m. in a garage in the 300-block of Cherry Valley Road.

Ballina said crews put the fire out shortly after arriving and before the flames spread to the structure and to other vehicles in the garage.

“It was basically isolated to the tractor,” he said.

He estimated about $8,000 worth of damage from the blaze. Ballina said crews cleared the scene in about 30 minutes.
