Seven Fields council seat race ends in tie
SEVEN FIELDS — The race for the borough council ended in a tie for the second seat on the board.
Dawn Servello and Joseph Scalamogna, a former Seneca Valley School Board member, both ended with 198 votes.
Incumbent Jennifer Sikora, council president and president of the Evans City/Seven Fields Regional Police Commission, was re-elected with 320 votes and will serve another four-year term.
Sikora said it looks like there is a tie for the other seat on the board. She noted that it could take a week before the winner of the second seat is decided by a drawing.
Sikora said she is frustrated that they do not have the final results yet.
“Whoever it is will do a great job,” she said.
Sikora said she appreciated the support of voters and their vote of confidence. She noted that it was good to see people out at the polls, but wished more had come out to vote since it was a beautiful November day.
For this next term, Sikora said she wants to continue to make sure the borough has responsible spending and wants to find more ways to improve the community.
Sikora said one of the things she heard at the polls was that voters appreciate the fact tax levels have remained the same.
The police force also received positive feedback from voters.
Sikora said a lot of work went into the police force and is happy it is being appreciated.
Both Servello and Scalamogna were unavailable for comment Tuesday night.
