Three police departments in and near Butler County are among the nearly 50 departments that have been honored with Platinum Awards from AAA for traffic safety efforts.

The Cranberry Township police, the Grove City police and state police Troop D in Butler Township were given these awards.

“Each organization has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make their community a safer place for motorists and residents,” said J.J. Miller, AAA East Central Safety Advisor.

The departments were among hundreds nationwide that participated in the Community Traffic Safety Program recognized by AAA East Central.
