3 people on campus at PSU have mumpsSTATE COLLEGE — Penn State and state Department of Health officials are warning students that three people on campus may have the mumps.The university issued the health warning Monday. Students, faculty and staff are being asked to check with their doctors whether they’ve been properly vaccinated for the mumps, measles and rubella.The school isn’t identifying those who may be sick, but says “the potential cases identified are in individuals who do not reside in the residence halls.”Still, the school is recommending that students avoid sharing food or drinks.

Large ammunition supply discoveredWAYNE — Police responding to complaints about the condition of a suburban Philadelphia house say they found a large supply of ammunition dating back to World War II inside.Officials say the county bomb squad was brought in to help search the house Monday after a police dog trained to sniff for explosives picked up a scent.Radnor Township Police Superintendent William Colarulo says police found rooms filled with garbage and discovered containers filled with chemicals buried in the backyard.Officials say the 80-year-old homeowner arrived while investigators were combing the home. He is a licensed firearms broker who has a permit to carry.
