Name: Vito Pilosi IIIResidence: Franklin TownshipEducation: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Bucknell UniversityOccupation: Vice President Pittsburgh Plug & Products Corp.Family: Wife, Linda; sons Vito IV and Anthony, enrolled in Slippery Rock School DistrictQUESTION: Why are you running for office?PILOSI: I am a hard working individual with large amount of real world and business experience. I would like to expand my community involvement beyond the Prospect Boys and Girls club as well as youth coaching. I am privileged to reside and have my children attend a great school district, but there is always room for improvement. Administrators must be open to new thoughts and ideas to create a safe school environment as well as prepare our children for the best possible future.QUESTION: What do you consider the pressing problems facing the school district and how would you address them?PILOSI: The majority of the infrastructure of the district is dated. Repair or replacement in the future is inevitable. This coupled with shrinking state and federal funding will create a huge challenge for administrators. The first step is to preserve what is already in place. Review current maintenance programs to keep current facilities adequate and safe. The second step is to investigate options, including upgrading current facilities and replacing with new.Options should be presented to the staff and community for review and guidance.
