Lance A. Monroe
Lance A. Monroe, 33, of Butler will be lovingly remembered for his kind heart, helpful nature and his love for his job. Anyone who stopped in at Kriley's in the last decade knew Lance for his professionalism and kindness toward his customers. He loved the challenge of taking things apart and reassembling them. Lance was the fun uncle who every kid wanted.
He passed away Sunday.
Born April 20, 1982, in Pittsburgh, Lance was a son of Pamela (Munsch, Monroe) Kriley and the late John G. Monroe.
He was employed by Jim Kriley Sales and Services as a mechanic and welder, starting in his teenage years.
He was a graduate of Knoch High School. Following graduation, he earned his CDL and auto inspection licenses.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, quad riding, gardening, chopping wood and driving his Dodge Ram 4x4, his pride and joy. He also played baseball during his youth.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Pamela S. (Munsch, Monroe) Kriley and James E. Kriley; his brother, Gregory J. (Megan) Monroe of Wilmington, N.C.; a half-brother and a half-sister, Brad and Alexis Monroe, both of Saxonburg; one stepbrother, David J. (Kimberly) Kriley of Butler; his nieces, Payton and Chase Monroe of Wilmington, N.C., and Kelly and Jenna Kriley of Butler; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his special friend, Gerri Bigler.
He was preceded in death by his father.
MONROE — Friends of Lance A. Monroe, who died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with the Rev. Nick Argentieri, pastor, to officiate. Interment will follow at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery in Pittsburgh.Memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association, P.O.
