HARRISBURG — Embattled Attorney General Kathleen Kane on Wednesday released e-mails from a judge that she said showed a “reckless breach” of secrecy involving sealed court documents.

A newspaper reported on the existence of those e-mails Tuesday. Kane said in a news release that accompanied the e-mails from Judge Barry Feudale they have been sent to the Judicial Conduct Board, the body that investigates allegations of misconduct by judges.

It’s unclear from the e-mails what, if anything, Feudale gave to The Philadelphia Inquirer days before it reported on his removal as supervisor of a statewide investigative grand jury. On Tuesday, the Inquirer reported Kane had the e-mails and they had been offered to reporters.

Two e-mails involve contacts with two reporters from the Inquirer in July 2013, days before the newspaper reported Kane had initiated a process removing Feudale from supervising the Harrisburg-based jury that investigated public corruption cases and the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal. Kane was critical of Feudale’s role in them.
