HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania’s top prosecutor will soon outline in public what duties she intends to perform once the suspension of her law license takes effect, her spokesman said Tuesday.

Chuck Ardo, spokesman for Attorney General Kathleen Kane, said she is preparing an e-mail for her staff that will also be released to the public “delineating what she believes her role will be once her suspension takes effect.” He said that was not likely to occur before today.

The first-term Democrat’s license was put on indefinite, temporary suspension by the state Supreme Court on Sept. 21, weeks after she was charged with perjury and other crimes for allegedly leaking secret grand jury material to a reporter and lying about it.

The court delayed the suspension for 30 days, so her first full day without a license will be Thursday.

Ardo said a senior staff meeting to discuss the situation was postponed from its regular Tuesday time to this morning after several senior attorneys were unable to attend.

Kane was charged in August with perjury, official oppression and other offenses.

Additional counts, including another charge of perjury, were filed earlier this month based on allegations she lied about whether she had signed a grand jury secrecy oath.
