Donald N. Scialabba

Donald N. Scialabba, 71, of Gainesville, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully Aug. 12 in Florida.

Born May 28, 1944, in Fresno, Calif., he was the son of Mary Marks Scialabba and the late Peter Scialabba.

Donald was a longtime resident of Butler since the age of seven. He moved to Gainesville in 2010.

Upon graduating from Butler High School in 1962, Donald attended Youngstown State University.

He was employed at Armco Steel from 1966 to 1974. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1966 to 1972.

Donald owned and operated the Spillway Bar and Lounge on Oneida Valley Road in Butler for more than 20 years, selling it in 1997.

He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Donald loved the game of golf, going to church and playing Scrabble, but most of all, he loved being with his family.

Donald is survived by his mother, Mary Marks Scialabba of Butler; two daughters, Susan McQuillan and her husband, Arthur, of Newberry, Fla., and Sharon Scialabba of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Michael P. Scialabba and his wife, Laura, of Orlando, Fla., and Jonathan P. Scialabba and his wife, Katrah, of Butler; one brother, Adolph Vincent Scialabba of New Castle; two sisters, Marie Bove of Long Island, N.Y., and Trina Rockenstein of Butler.

In addition, he is survived by seven grandchildren, A.J. and Alyson McQuillan of Newberry, Fla., Fia and Vonn Scialabba of Orlando, Fla., and Stella, Jude and Lucy Scialabba of Butler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith B. McCool Scialabba, who he married April 30, 1974; and his father, Peter Scialabba.

SCIALABBA — There will be no visitation for Donald N. Scialabba, who died Aug. 12, 2015.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery.The family requests that memorial donations be made to Catholic Charities, 120 W.
