Butler Twp Police12:01 a.m. Thursday — Police charged David W. Cribbs, 21, of Lyndora with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment after investigating a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Division Street in Lyndora. Police said their investigation revealed Cribbs allegedly assaulted and threatened an occupant at the home, and was holding an open pocket knife during the assault. Police said the victim suffered minor injuries from being punched and Cribbs suffered a hand laceration during the altercation. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and was set to be arraigned upon his release from the hospital.4:20 p.m. Wednesday — Police cited Jesse Wiegand, 23, of Kittanning for retail theft after he was allegedly caught by Walmart store security in Butler Commons attempting to steal $120 worth of merchandise.11:51 p.m. Tuesday — Police investigated a one-car crash on Freeport Road, and determined that Georgetta Coleman, 42, of Sarver hit a telephone pole. Police said Coleman was cited for a lane violation and careless driving; she was not injured.11:29 p.m. Sept. 4 — Police charged John Halagich, 39, of Butler, with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, tire equipment and traction surfaces and unlawful activities after a traffic stop on New Castle Road for driving without a tire.

State Police, KittanningFriday — A 9-year-old girl from Bethel Township, Armstrong County, suffered a nonfatal drug overdose on Tuesday, state police said.The girl was taken to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.Police learned of the incident on Friday and said the details surrounding where and how to overdose occurred are under investigation.2:18 a.m. Friday — James Watterson, 35, of Rural Valley was arrested for possession of suspected drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Route 28 in East Franklin Township.
