Butler Police3:33 a.m. Tuesday — Bradley M. Zurzolo, 23, was arrested after he allegedly punched and choked his girlfriend, April McCabe, at their home in the 300 block of Liberty Street. Zurzolo was arraigned on a charge of simple assault. He is free on $10,000 unsecured bail.Monday — A spray bottle of dog cleaner landed a Butler woman in trouble with the law. That’s the $5 item that police allege Rachel C. Baylock, 37, stole last month from a vehicle on Oak Street.The theft happened about 11:15 a.m. Aug. 31. Police later recovered the stolen bottle at Baylock’s home in the 300 block of North Main Street. She is charged with theft from a vehicle.
Butler Twp PoliceSept. 9 — Police filed felony assault and other charges against William D. Schupp Jr., 43, of Butler stemming from an altercation last month at Butler Memorial Hospital. Schupp allegedly tackled a nurse during the incident about 1:10 a.m. Aug. 23.The nurse, who was knocked to the floor, was not injured, according to a police report. Schupp is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.He wasn’t immediately arraigned on the charges.3:49 p.m. Sept. 5 — Kurt Joseph Kiesewetter, 49, of Butler was found with suspected drug contraband after he was stopped for allegedly shoplifting $310 in merchandise from the Butler Commons’ Walmart. He is charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.11:29 p.m. Sept. 4 — Eric J. Jeffries, 43, of Butler was caught with suspected drug contraband following a traffic stop on New Castle Road. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.10:22 p.m. Sept. 4 — Margaret R. Emrick, 20, of Butler was found with suspected marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop on Route 422. She is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
