Alverda Guenther
Alverda M. “Al” Guenther, 96, passed away Friday at the Trinity Living Center in Grove City with her son, Robert, at her side.
Born Aug. 11, 1918, in Conemaugh, Cambria County, Pa., to Claude Hall and Della Ann Buxton Hall, she married Gus Guenther Jr. on July 3, 1938, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2000.
Al was known for her outgoing personality. She worked in several different businesses in Slippery Rock. She was a Judge of Elections for Slippery Rock Borough for more than 30 years, an avid golfer and animal lover. She was a member of the Center United Presbyterian Church.
Al is survived by two sons, Gus G. Guenther III of Prospect and Robert L. Guenther of Slippery Rock; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
