3:10 p.m. Thursday — An unidentified vehicle sideswiped a car at Bonniebrook and Brooke Devore roads in Summit Township. The unknown driver did not stop. Calla L. Hinderliter, 21, of Cabot was driving the car.

12:34 p.m. Wednesday — Patrick A. Thompson, 18, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband on Rennick Road in Jefferson Township. Thompson faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

4:20 p.m. Thursday — Verna M. Craig, 89, of Emlenton was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck on Route 308 at the Interstate 80 off-ramp in Clinton Township, Venango County.

The crash happened when a vehicle driven by Margaret A. Fremer, 63, of Brockway, Jefferson County, crossed into the path of a car driven by Edward J. McGowan, 83, of Karns City. Craig was a passenger in the car. She was wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury.

Police said Fremer was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

2:10 p.m. Wednesday — A 21-year-old Freeport man, who police did not identify, is suspected of shoplifting a vacuum cleaner, valued at $158, from the Walmart at Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township.

Wednesday — Unspecified property was stolen from a woman's home in Toby Township. The theft happened between 3 and 6:19 p.m.

Monday — An unknown identity thief cashed several checks in the name of an East Franklin Township physician management company at banks in the Philadelphia area. Police continue to investigate the fraud that occurred between Aug. 7 and Monday.

6:26 p.m. Sunday — Three Templeton residents were caught with suspected drugs following a traffic stop on Route 28 about one mile south of Slate Lick in South Buffalo Township.

Police did not identify the suspects, two men, ages 24 and 26, and a 24-year-old woman. According to a police report, troopers stopped the car after learning the woman was wanted on a warrant.

All three occupants face charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The driver also faces possible charges of driving under the influence.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

3 p.m. Tuesday — Three unknown shoplifters made off with $1,000 in merchandise from the Coach store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The suspects are described as two black females and a black male.

5 a.m. Aug. 6 — A 15-year-old boy was captured hours after escaping from the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township, Mercer County. The boy, who police did not identify, left the facility about shortly before 11 p.m. Aug. 5.

Police charged the youth with escape in juvenile court.
