10:22 p.m. Friday — Six teenagers were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck at West Brady Street and Wagner Avenue. The crash happened when a car driven by Shelby P. Poorman, 17, of Butler collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Codie S. Rekasie, 19, of Evans City.
The car, following the collision, traveled over a sidewalk and hit a city-owned metal safety pylon, ending in a yard in the 400 block of West Brady Street where it struck a wood planter box.
A police report said Poorman was unable to recall what happened. Two witnesses told police that she did not stop at the intersection, the report said.
Poorman was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Also suffering minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment were car passengers Mackenzie Claypoole, 15, of Chicora; and Nicole Richards, 16, of Valencia; Rekasie; and SUV passengers Megan Robb, 14, of Grafton, W.Va., and Madison Higgins, 16, of Evans City. All occupants in both vehicles were wearing seat belts.
[naviga:h3]Middlesex Township Police[/naviga:h3]
July 21 — Police filed misdemeanor drug charges against Ryan J. Gray, 20, of Cranberry Township stemming from a traffic stop on Route 228 West.
Police said Gray was stopped about 2:40 a.m. July 18 after he sped past an officer in the opposing lane. The officer turned around and was able to pace the suspect’s car traveling 86 mph, according to court documents.
While speaking to Gray, following the stop, the officer noticed a suspected marijuana flake on his lap and a Mason jar containing suspected marijuana behind the passenger seat.
A subsequent search also turned up a marijuana pipe in the center console and marijuana grinder in the driver’s side door.
Gray is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and speeding.
4:14 a.m. July 18 — Chad McDade, 20, of Valencia was arrested for drunken driving at Route 8 and Overbrook Road. Police said McDade was initially stopped after he made a left turn without using his turn signal.
The officer smelled alcohol coming from the suspect and believed he was impaired, according to court documents. A subsequent search of McDade’s car turned up six bottles of alcoholic lemonade.
The defendant was given a preliminary breath test, which showed the presence of alcohol. He was later taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test. Toxicology results showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.07 percent, documents said.
In Pennsylvania, drivers under 21 are legally drunk when their blood-alcohol level is 0.02 percent or more.
In addition to driving under the influence, McDade is charged with underage possession of alcohol.

1:50 p.m. Friday — A Butler man was hurt when he lost control of his motorcycle after hitting a deer carcass on the road and crashed in Plumcreek Township. William W. Naleppa Jr., 64, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with moderate injuries.
Police said Naleppa was westbound on Route 422 when his cycle hit the dead deer and overturned onto its right side.

July 27 — William K. Dellich III, 27, of West Sunbury was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old woman at a Route 308 home in Cherry Township. He is charged with simple assault and harassment.

5 p.m. Saturday — A driver, who police did not identify, lost control of her car and struck a tree along Kilgore Road in Worth Township, Mercer County. Police said the woman was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.
Saturday — Several unspecified items were stolen from a vehicle at a home on Greg Avenue in Pine Township, Mercer County. The theft happened Friday or Saturday.
Saturday — Someone slashed all four tires on a vehicle at a home on Route 58 in Pine Township, Mercer County.
Saturday — An unknown vandal damaged a yard light at a home on Village Park Drive in Pine Township, Mercer County.
12:25 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Phillip G. Goodman, 69, of Tombstone, Ariz., struck a deer on Interstate 80 just west of Centertown Road in Wolf Creek Township.
4 p.m. Wednesday — A 72-year-old Grove City woman’s car was sideswiped by another vehicle while unattended at the Walmart parking lot in Pine Township, Mercer County. The other driver, Hanna Shaw, 31, of Jackson Center, did not stop. Police later cited her for hit-and-run.
