Work continues Tuesday in the library of the middle school. The building will house Freeport students in grades six through eight.

Construction of Freeport School District’s 115,000-square-foot middle school is nearing completion.

Located next to Freeport High School in Buffalo Township, the building will open at the beginning of the school year in September.

It will house sixth, seventh and eighth graders. Before, sixth graders attended the elementary schools, and a junior high school in Freeport had seventh and eighth graders.

Massaro Corp. began constructing the $30 million school in July 2014.
