Woman killed in 2-vehicle crash

BEAVER COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash Monday morning just over the Butler/Beaver County line in New Sewickley Township, Beaver County, left one person dead.

Norma Miller of New Brighton, whose age was not immediately available, died of blunt force trauma, said Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi. She ruled Miller’s death accidental.

Miller was traveling north on Glen Eden Road in a Chevrolet Cavalier and went into the intersection of that road and Route 68. The car was struck on its driver side by a Ford F-250 construction company truck traveling east, sending both vehicles off the road.

The accident occurred just after 11 a.m.

New Sewickley Police Cpl. Timothy Gatehouse said Monday that Miller failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled into the intersection in front of the truck.

Both vehicles ended up off the side of Route 68 by Brush Creek Road with the front of the Ford on the driver side of the Cavalier.

Miller was declared dead shortly after emergency personnel arrived.

The truck driver reportedly was not hurt.
