Judge orders no work on Geyer wells until Sept. 18
MIDDLESEX TWP — No work on the controversial Geyer wells on Denny Road will happen this summer.
County Court Judge Michael Yeager, who is hearing an appeal by the challengers to a zoning board decision to uphold zoning that would allow the Geyer wells, has ruled that no work can be done at the Bob and Kim Geyer wells until at least Sept. 18, the date for Yeager to hear further arguments in the case.
Yeager ruled in late June that work at the site would cease for 30 days, and that those appealing the zoning board’s ruling must provide a $250,000 bond to ensure against lost profits on the part of Rex Energy.
The new order by Yeager did not mention any changes to the bond requirement.
Rex Energy, Middlesex Township and the Geyers have until August 8 to appeal Yeager’s latest order.
