2 more face robbery, homicide charges
NORTH BEAVER TWP, Lawrence County — Two more people are facing homicide and robbery charges connected to the death of a 24-year-old New Castle man whose body was found near the Mohawk Elementary School in May.
State Police in New Castle on Thursday charged Ricardo Aponte Jr., 32, and Dawn M. Wallace, 33, both of New Castle, with criminal homicide and robbery charges following an investigation of the death of Frederick D. Swillings, whose body was found the morning of May 1 along Hoffmaster Road. He died of several gunshot wounds, police said.
Ryan C. Avery, 24, and Melissa S. Aponte, 33, also both of New Castle, were arrested on May 13 in connection to the death. Their charges were upgraded to include homicide and robbery charges.
Police said all four of the suspects have ben extradited back from Alabama, where they fled after the incident. Each are being held in Lawrence County Prison. Formal arraignments will be later, police said.
