State Police, Butler

2 p.m. Wednesday — A Pittsburgh teenager was hurt when she lost control of her car and crashed down an embankment on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. The driver, Samantha L. Hankins, 18, was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. Police cited her for driving at an unsafe speed.

Tuesday — Someone tried to break into a home on Route 308 in Center Township. The would-be burglar caused about $50 in damage while attempting to get past locked doors.

The attempted burglary happened between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

6:32 a.m. June 12 — Antoine R. Pollard, 25, of Apollo was charged with DUI following a hit-and-run accident on Brownsdale Road in Forward Township.

Police said Pollard’s Chevrolet Silverado hit a tree and rolled on its roof after he crossed into the opposing lane of the road and hit a westbound 2005 Ford F150 driven by Derek A. Jack, 18, of Sarver.

Police said Pollard fled the scene, leaving behind his passenger, George M. Demko III, 28, of Pittsburgh. Pollard was found shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Beacon Light Road in Penn Township.

State Police, Kittanning

Tuesday — A vandal damaged a pump at the Pine Township sewage treatment plant pump station on Fifth Street. The vandalism, in turn, caused damage to homes serviced by the facility according to a police report.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.

Grove City Police

Saturday — A vandal overnight spray painted graffiti on a garage door in the 400 block of College Avenue. Anyone with information is to call police at 724-458-7925.

1:30 p.m. June 12 — Douglas Parker, 56, of Grove City was hurt when he laid down the motorcycle he was driving to avoid a collision with a sport utility vehicle at East Pine Street and Winfield Drive. He was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.

The SUV driver, Margaret Zinkham, 64, of Grove City, was cited for making an improper left turn.
