Board hears farm plans

Residential development likely on the way

ADAMS TWP — The old Hespenheide farm will likely become a residential and commercial development.

Chris Wulff, an engineer representing FWH Developer, told the township supervisors Monday night the 60-acre development will be along Route 228 across from the end of Myoma Road.

He said White Tail Meadows will have 130 townhomes and 26 single-family homes on the rear of the property, and four commercial parcels in the front along Route 228.

Wulff said a sports complex with five basketball courts plus football and soccer fields are planned for the largest commercial parcel in the plan.

The other, smaller parcels along Route 228 are expected to have a hotel, bank and restaurant, Wulff said.

He said Ryan Homes is the builder for the residential plan, where the single-family homes will be priced in the mid to high $200,000 range.

Wulff said the residential part of the development will occur in two or three phases with construction beginning in the fall.

The supervisors gave preliminary approval to the plan on Monday night.

The township planning commission already has approved the development.

“This will increase the tax base of the township,” said township engineer Ron Olsen.
