Butler Twp. PoliceMonday — Police charged Joshua J. Space, 22, of Butler with trespass after he was seen last week at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. The suspect, who was barred from the store after a shoplifting incident March 9, was spotted there Tuesday.12:10 p.m. Friday — A 13-year-old girl, who police did not identify, struck her grandmother’s arm and pushed the woman to the ground during an altercation at a Hampton Court home. Police removed the girl from the home. She was cited for harassment.11:21 a.m. Friday — Joseph Birckbichler, 68, of Butler was uninjured when the car he was driving caught fire on Route 68 in front of the Army Reserve Center.
Grove City PoliceMay 5 — Police charged Jacob Lee Baun, 19, of Grove City with resisting arrest, two counts of tampering with evidence, possession of a small amount of marijuana, seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage possession of alcohol stemming from an incident at 12:25 a.m. May 2.
State Police, Butler7:45 p.m. Monday — An unknown suspect fired a gun during an apparent chase through a dead-end housing plan at Bradman Estates in Slippery Rock Township. No one was injured.Neighbors told police two cars — a gold or tan Toyota and a dark-colored Hyundai or teal-colored Honda — drove into the plan at a high rate of speed. Four black males were in the Toyota and two black males were in the other car.While the cars drove away, a gunshot was reportedly heard coming from one of the vehicles. Anyone with information is to call 724-284-8100.8:46 p.m. Sunday — A 22-year-old Freeport man, who police did not identify, was arrested on an out-of-county warrant at the Sheetz store parking lot on Route 356 in Buffalo Township.But after stopping the suspect, police also suspected the man was under the influence of drugs. He was arrested for suspicion of drugged driving and taken for a blood test. Charges are pending toxicology results, police.He was place in the Butler County Prison in connection with the warrant, which was issued out of Westmoreland County.5:56 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Jaime M. Fronapel-Hildebrand, 23, of West Sunbury struck a deer on Route 308 just south of Holyoke Road in Center Township. No one was injured but the car sustained minor to moderate damage.
State Police, Kittanning9:30 p.m. Tuesday — A minivan driven by Jennifer A. Croyle, 51, of South Buffalo Township struck a deer on Route 28 just north of Horseshoe Drive in South Buffalo Township. No one was injured but the van had to be towed from the scene.
