LATROBE — Behind medalist and Knoch graduate Steffan Carlsson, the Butler County Community College golf team won the NJCAA Region XX championship at Latrobe Elk Golf Club Tuesday.

Carlsson shot a 78-76-154 in the two-day event to edge teammate and Butler grad Tommy Dimun (78-80-158) for the individual title.

BC3 won the team title with a 317-321-638 — 44 strokes better than runner-up Anne Aroundel Community College in Maryland.

Chris Kier, a Knoch grad, shot a 79-86-165 and Steve Adametz, a Mars graduate, fired an 87-79-166 for the Pioneers.

BC3 will compete in the NJCAA Division III Men’s National Championship at Chautauqua, N.Y., June 1-5.
