Butler Twp. Police
Thursday — Rachel E. Ross, 22, of Butler was charged with theft- and drug-related offenses stemming from a suspected shoplifting incident April 27 at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. Police said Ross is accused of stealing $48 in merchandise from the store. Afterward, she was found with suspected drugs.
Ross is charged with retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.
10:35 a.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Maryann Coyle, 68, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle on North Duffy Road. Police cited Coyle for driving at an unsafe speed and driving with an expired registration. Olga Fatalsky, 85, of Butler was the other driver.
6:05 p.m. Tuesday — Terry L. Atchison Jr., 37, of Butler was allegedly caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband while police were investigating an unrelated incident. Atchison is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
7:05 p.m. Monday — Robert D. Hutchison, 57, of Saxonburg was caught after allegedly shoplifting $200 in merchandise from the Walmart at Butler Commons. Hutchison is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.
State Police, Butler
Noon Thursday — An unknown thief stole a 79-year-old Butler woman’s green bag, valued at $100, from the food court at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. A cell phone, worth an estimated $30, was in the bag.
Wednesday — Leah C. McGee, 25, of Cabot was charged with drunken driving stemming from a March 31 accident in Summit Township. McGee lost control of her car and traveled into a pasture in the 3000 block of Beck Road.
McGee is charged with driving under the influence, driving at an unsafe speed, failing to keep right, careless driving and giving false information.
State Police, Kittanning
6:28 p.m. Thursday — One person was hurt when a pickup truck driven by Kim F. Cepull, 59, of Cabot rear-ended a car on Route 422 just south of Sleepy Hollow Road in Plumcreek Township. The other driver, Penny S. Casey, 54, of Johnstown, Cambria County, was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with minor injuries.
Cepull was cited for driving too closely to another vehicle.
5:24 p.m. Thursday — Robert G. Wotisky, no age or address given, was hurt when a car struck the bicycle he was riding on Buffalo Street at Second Street in Freeport. The collision knocked Wotisky off the bike. He was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, with minor injuries.
Melissa Ann Herrit, no age or address given, was driving the car. The Freeport Volunteer Fire Department and Freeport EMS assisted at the scene.
8 a.m. Thursday — An 11-year-old child, who police did not identify, is accused of showing a sexually-explicit video to other youngsters while on a bus headed to Lenape Elementary School in Manor Township. Police said their investigation continues.
