Friday — Police charged a Butler trio, all with previous shoplifting convictions, with teaming up to allegedly steal merchandise from the Walmart at Butler Commons.

The suspects — Trevor G. Walker, 25; Stephanie R. Steiger, 29; and Dustin J. Blinn, 32 — went into the store together and placed items from Walmart into shopping bags from other stores. Store security stopped them when they tried to leave.

Walker is accused of hiding a pair of sandals and a package of T-shirts valued at a combined $19.94. Steiger allegedly tried to take three items of lingerie and a set of earrings worth a total of $29.76. Blinn is suspected of trying to take a pair of shorts valued at $17.96.

Penn Twp. Police

Wednesday — Police charged Nicholas P. Limbert, 22, of Gibsonia with drugged driving in connection with a two-vehicle March crash in Middlesex Township that left one person at a Pittsburgh hospital with injuries.

The crash happened about 10:20 p.m. March 19 when Limbert’s northbound car crossed over all five lanes on Route 8 and hit the passenger side of a car that was pulling out of the parking lot at Mystic Lanes. Christopher Marshall, 57, of Cabot was the other driver.

Penn police have a mutual aid agreement with Middlesex Township police, who had no officers on duty that night.

Marshall’s wife, Nancy, 57, a front-seat passenger, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued. She complained of pain to her chest and pelvis. She was treated at UPMC Presbyterian and released.

Paramedics treated Christopher Marshall at the scene but he refused further medical treatment.

While speaking to Limbert, police suspected he was impaired by drugs, according to court documents. He eventually was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.

Police said recently received toxicology reports showed he had several drugs in his system, including Restoril, which is used to treat insomnia. He also tested positive for the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller Dilaudid as well as marijuana.

Limbert is charged with driving under the influence of drugs, two counts of reckless endangerment, careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.
