Lancaster Twp. man accused of molestation

CRANBERRY TWP — A Lancaster Township man is accused of sexually assaulting a child over a 10-year period.

District Judge Dave Kovach arraigned 41-year-old Joseph J. Nuzzo on a list of charges after state police took him into custody Friday. The defendant is free on his own recognizance.

Police allege in charging documents that Nuzzo assaulted a girl from 2004 to 2014. At the time the suspected abuse began, the girl was 8.

The accuser, who is now an adult, in March told investigators that Nuzzo exposed himself and molested her in Cranberry and Lancaster townships.

Nuzzo denied the allegations, his attorney, Michael Pawk, said Tuesday.

“He’s innocent and he intends to vigorously defend himself against the charges,” Pawk said.

Nuzzo faces felony charges of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, child endangerment and corruption of minors, and misdemeanor charges that include indecent assault and indecent exposure.

A preliminary hearing is set for June 12 at Kovach’s office in Cranberry Township.
