PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Ballet Theater says it’s two-thirds of the way toward raising $20 million to expand a school for aspiring dancers.

The ballet plans to break ground on a 14,000-square-foot annex called the Byham House, a residence for high-school age ballet students from out of town.

The facility will include two dance studios, a fitness area, changing rooms and study areas.

Ballet officials hope the expansion attracts 40 percent more students in the next three years.
