Christ Community United Methodist

The confirmation class of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will go to the conference center at 8:15 a.m. Saturday.

A celebration of the life of Helen Bachman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday.

A potluck luncheon will follow the traditional service Sunday. There will be a baby shower for James and Dana Golla afterward.

The community dinner work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday at First English Lutheran Church.

The chancel choir will meet at 6:30 p.m. April 2. The Maundy Thursday service will be at 7:30 p.m.

Christ’s Outreach

Community Life

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

There will be a monthly building fund offering Sunday.

The Laundromat ministry outing will be Sunday after tear down. Quarters can be donated in an offering envelope or at the info hub.

Covenant Presbyterian

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will have the One Great Hour of Sharing offering during the Sunday worship service. The offering will be given to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program and Self Development of People. The noisy offering of loose change also will be received Sunday.

The Palm Sunday service will include a processional with palms and the distribution of palm crowns.

Emlenton Presbyterian

A community Good Friday service will be from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. at Emlenton Presbyterian Church, 508 Main St., Emlenton. The Rev. Chris Clark of Chapel on the Hill will speak. For more information, call 724-867-2470.

Faith Lutheran

Faith Lutheran Church, 241 Freeport Road, Summit Township, will have a 7 p.m. special Good Friday service.

First Baptist

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have the all-church game night at the Baptist Youth Center at 5 p.m. Saturday. Take a dish to share, a beverage and games.

In addition to Sunday school and the morning service, there will be a 6 p.m. service Sunday.

First Baptist Church of Evans City

First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will have Christian living classes at 9:15 a.m. Sunday before the morning worship service.

First English Lutheran

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have a 7:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday service with Holy Communion and stripping of the altar.

Grace@Calvary Lutheran

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St.

The Faith Shapers youth group will meet Sunday for lunch and to decorate Easter eggs.

The Maundy Thursday service will be at 7 p.m. at the church.

Graceway

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Michelle Huff and MaryAnn Mahan will provide the special music for the Palm Sunday worship service.

GraceWay will have a Maundy Thursday service at 6:45 p.m.

Hill United Presbyterian

Children will lead the procession of the palms for the Palm Sunday service at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. The deacons will host a light lunch and game day following worship.

The instrumental ensemble will rehearse at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mars United Presbyterian

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will have a Lenten lunch with soup and sandwiches at noon Friday. The speaker will be John Ivory.

After Palm Sunday services, there will be an “Eggstravaganza” for the children at noon with lunch provided.

Old Union Presbyterian

Holy Week at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will begin with the Palm Sunday worship service.

RIDER LUTHERAN

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. and a Good Friday service at 7 p.m.

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have a Palm Sunday worship service with distribution of palms. A light lunch will follow. After lunch, prayer stations will be available for personal reflection and meditation about the events of the last week of Christ’s life.

Christ’s Last Supper and the final evening of his life will be remembered in a 7:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday service of Communion.

The Sowers Chapel

The Sower’s Chapel, 100 Iron Bridge Road, Sarver, will offer a family Holy Supper commemorating the Last Supper at 7 p.m. April 2. The service will introduce children to the sacrament.

Palms will be provided for the procession during the Palm Sunday festival service.

There will be a potluck reception following the Sunday service to complete the six-week study, “My Walk with the Lord.”

St. John’s Evangelical

The last of the Emlenton area Lenten services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 Campbell Ave., Emlenton. The Rev. Kent O’Neil of Emlenton United Methodist Ministries will speak. An offering for the Fish Food Cupboard will be received. Fellowship and refreshments will follow the service. St. John’s Lutheran

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing will celebrate Palm Sunday at the Sunday worship service.

The church will take registrations for the Easter Sunday breakfast and orders for Easter flowers.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Prospect will host the parish Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m.

The community Good Friday service will be at 2 p.m. at the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church.

St. John’s Reformed

St. John’s Reformed Church, 494 Evans City Road, Butler, will have a Maundy Thursday Communion and Tenebrae service at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Ed Dixon will be the guest minister.

The Palm Sunday worship service will feature a concert with Dan Schall.

St. John’s United Church of Christ

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City., will have a Palm Sunday service this week.

Breakfast with the Easter bunny will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall.

Maundy Thursday will be marked by a simple supper at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall followed by a worship service at 7 p.m.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

The senior high youth group of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Rachel Steiner will host a free community art show from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the patio room at Concordia’s Lund Center.

The Palm Sunday celebration will include Holy Communion and special music with bells and choirs.

The Bible Bowl team will meet for lunch at noon Sunday.

Generations Choir will meet with brass musicians from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The praise team will meet at 6:30 p.m. before Maundy Thursday services.

St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic

The sacrament of confirmation will be celebrated at 7 p.m. today for the candidates of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and St. Paul Roman Catholic Church by Bishop David Zubik at St. Michael, 432 Center Ave.

St. Paul Roman Catholic Church

St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., will have Stations of the Cross at 4 and 7 p.m. Friday.

There will be a Seder meal at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

A Tenebrae service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Summit Presbyterian

Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, will have a Palm Sunday worship service followed by Sunday school and confirmation classes.

There will be a Maundy Thursday worship service at 7 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The sanctuary of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will be open for spiritual reflection and prayer from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday.

There will be a meeting of youths in grades 7 to 12 and their parents after the 11 a.m. Sunday service. Lunch will be provided.

Stations of the Cross will be at 7 p.m. Monday.

There will be contemplation and reflection in the sanctuary from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Holden prayer service with healing will be at noon and 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Maundy Thursday service will be at 7 p.m.

Zion Lutheran

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, will distribute palms at the Palm Sunday worship service. The youth Sunday school will present a play during the service.

The youths are collecting donations for farm animals for poor people in other countries through Samaritan’s Purse.
