Butler Police

11:02 p.m. Wednesday — David R. Danielle, 26, of Butler was arrested on felony drug charges after a traffic stop on East Brady Street netted officers suspected marijuana and Ecstasy tablets and a digital scale and crack pipe.

Police said they stopped Danielle after spotting his car traveling the wrong way on Cedar Street. The front seat passenger took off running and got away.

Later, Danielle was arraigned on two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and a charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, both felonies.

Additionally, he is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

Danielle following arraignment was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

Wednesday — Brian K. George Jr., 23, of Butler Township was charged with having sex with a 16-year-old girl that he allegedly got drunk last week at a city home.

Police began investigating the case March 11 when they spoke to the alleged victim at Butler Memorial Hospital, where she had gone with her mother. The hospital in turn had notified police of the reported assault.

The girl told police that George on March 8 had provided her alcohol, which she consumed to the point of intoxication, according to court documents. Afterward, she said, they had sex.

During their investigation, police said, they came upon an e-mail “containing a conversation that took place between (the girl) and George via Facebook,” documents said. The defendant in the e-mail asks the girl not to tell her mother that he gave her alcohol.

George is charged with a misdemeanor count of corruption of minors.

Butler County Detectives

Tuesday — Detectives filed a pair of felony charges against Travis R. Watt, 30, of Prospect, an inmate at the Butler County Prison, after corrections officers found suspected drugs in his jail cell last week.

Investigators said an envelope containing a Suboxone strip was found under Watt’s bunk March 9. He later admitted that when he was originally booked into the prison, he managed to smuggle in four Suboxone strips that were hidden on his body, according to court documents.

Watt is charged with smuggling contraband into prison and possession of contraband by an inmate.

State Police, Butler

Thursday — Police charged Basil A. Luchkiw, 57, of Butler with driving under the influence stemming from a call for a reported crash about 7:20 p.m. Feb. 28 on Route 422 at the Mitchell Hill exit in Summit Township. When troopers got there, they found Luchkiw. But there was no crash.

7:53 a.m. Wednesday — Trevor L. Beige, 21, of Fenelton lost control of his car and struck a guardrail on Hinchberger Road just east of Freeport Road in Summit Township. Police said Biege was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.

Wednesday — An unknown thief stole several tools from the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery on St. Elias Lane in Jefferson Township. The tools, owned by Land Clearing Specialists of McDonald, Washington County, are valued at $2,000.

State Police, Mercer

March 13 — Deshaun J. Emery, 26, of Grove City was arrested on charges he and another man robbed a 34-year-old woman at the Mercer Motel in Coolspring Township.

The woman, who was staying at the motel, told police she had her door cracked open while waiting for her son to return from school March 10. About 3:15 p.m., police said, Emery entered the room and put a gun to the woman’s head.

Emery allegedly stole a cell phone, computer tablet and two bottles of prescription medication. Emery left and got into a silver sport-utility vehicle driven by Cole Zahuranec, 27, of Volant.

According to court documents, the woman knew both men.

Police arrested Zahuranec March 12 at a home in Volant. The next day, Emery was arrested at a home in Mercer.

Both suspects are charged with robbery, simple assault, terroristic threats, theft and receiving stolen property. They are being held in the Mercer County Jail.
