Here is a look at this year's honorees:

Annessa Schnur Steele

A 2000 Butler graduate, Steele won 12 individual WPIAL championships in track and field and broke school records in the 100-meter dash, the 400-meter run, the long jump, 400-meter relay, 1,600-meter relay and 3,200-meter relay.

She was also a seven-time PIAA medalist.

Her Butler track and field teams went 49-0 in her career.

Steele is still top 10 all-time in Butler County in 13 events.

As a girls track coach at Butler, she won two WPIAL team championships.

Dan Grindel

The 1981 Butler High graduate was a WPIAL diving champion, setting the meet record in the process, during his senior season and also won a PIAA championship.

He set eight pool records in his final two seasons diving for Butler and went on to star on the diving board at West Virginia University where he won the Atlantic 10 Conference 1- and 3-meter diving championships in 1983.

Leann Burkholder

The 1984 Butler graduate was a three-time first team All-WPIAL basketball player from 1982-1984.

When she graduated, Burkholder was the third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder in school history.

She went on to the University of Pittsburgh where she was a three-time letterwinner and played semi-pro basketball for the Iowa Unicorns in 1992.

Burkholder also enjoyed a successful high school basketball coaching career.

She coached the Waterloo (Iowa) girls basketball team for 17 years and spent two years as the boys basketball coach at North English (Iowa). She left coaching in 2012 after seven years with Naples High School in Florida.

Joseph O'Brien

The 1972 Butler graduate was a high school All-American in swimming in 1971 and won a WPIAL title in the 50 freestyle as a senior.

He graduated with seven swimming records at the school.

James Cooper

The 1963 Butler graduate starred in football and track.

Cooper only played football for two seasons for the Tornado, but made an impression. During his senior year he won the Jim McDowell award, was an All-American honorable mention, made the all-state team and received a scholarship to play college football at the University of Georgia.

A knee injury cut short his college football career.

1963 Butler Football Team

The 1963 Golden Tornado went 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the Mid-Western Athletic Conference to win the league championship.

Butler lost to West Mifflin, 12-6, in the WPIAL championship game at Forbes Field.

Dan Cunningham

The 1965 Karns City High graduate has been involved in Butler County sports for 50 years as an athlete, coach and official.

He enters the Hall in the lifetime achievement category.

Cunningham played basketball and ran track at Karns City, but his biggest contributions have come as a coach and as an official.

Cunningham has served as a baseball umpire at various levels for more than three decades.

As the manager of the Saxonburg baseball team in the Eagle County League, Cunningham has posted a 449-159 record and has won five league championships.

He is also involved in Legion and youth baseball.

Dave Hoffman

While racing stock cars since 1965, Hoffman racked up 299 wins & numerous track championships.
