Butler Police
11:29 a.m. Monday — Sean M. Stettmier, 45, of Butler was arrested on felony assault charges after he allegedly tried to punch an officer at the police station.
Stettmier initially showed up at the station to report that he was being harassed and threatened, according to court documents.
He filed his complaint but he would not leave the station, police said. At one point he started yelling.
Patrolman Chad Rensel eventually came out into the lobby and tried to walk Stettmier out of the station. But the suspect allegedly reacted with more anger.
“The defendant attempted to punch Patrolman Rensel and struggled with the officer,” documents said.
Stettmier was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault and defiant trespass, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.
11:08 a.m. March 11 — Michael W. Roman, 38, no known address, was arrested on multiple bench warrants after police spotted him walking in the 100 block of North Chestnut Street.
Butler Twp Police
Wednesday — Police charged Nicholas A. Cook, 21, of Butler with leaping out a Route 8 south motel room window with a bag full of hypodermic needles earlier this month.
Cook allegedly jumped out the second-floor room window of the Super 8 about 9:25 p.m. March 6 after officers came knocking at his door. Police said he damaged a window screen in his getaway bid.
The suspect also left behind a bag containing eight needles, a police report said
Cook is charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and scattering rubbish.
Wednesday — Harry D. Koch, 46, of Lyndora was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop about 8:40 p.m. March 2 on Whitestown Road.
In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Koch is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and failing to stop at a red light.
7:54 p.m. Tuesday — A 15-year-old Slippery Rock girl was caught allegedly shoplifting clothes and jewelry, worth a combined $327, from the Kohl's store at the Butler Crossing shopping plaza. The girl, who police did not identify, is charged with retail theft.
8:15 a.m. Tuesday — Two students are accused of fighting at Butler Intermediate High School. Both boys, who police did not identify, are charged with disorderly conduct. The student who police believe started the fight also is charged with harassment.
