Butler YMCA's child/parent swim class for preschool-aged kids at the Butler YMCA.

Young children and their guardians enjoy learning and playing in the swimming pool at Butler YMCA.

Children ages 6 months to 35 months participate in the seven-week aquatics class with an accompanying adult.

Mike Siers, aquatic director for the YMCA, said nine parent-child pairs attend the current Thursday morning session. The class is designed for a maximum of 12 pairs.

Classes focus on adjusting children to water with the aid of age-appropriate songs and games designed to improve a child's swimming and safety abilities in water.
