GROVE CITY — Maggie Lockovich received the annual Leadership Award from Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV for her work as one of MIU IV’s special education supervisors.

The award recognizes an individual in an executive, supervisory or management role who fosters and promotes the vision of a regional service agency.

Lockovich was nominated by MIU IV employees and education and human services professional communities.

Lockovich joined MIU IV in 1999. She has a master’s degree in speech and language pathology.

As a special education supervisor, Lockovich oversees the staff in MIU IV’s early intervention and speech and language therapy programs.

She also serves as a team leader on MIU IV’s BrainSTEPS committee for students with concussions and traumatic brain injuries.

“School districts and team members look to Maggie as a source of information and inspiration,” said Brenda Eagan Brown, Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Statewide BrainSTEPS program coordinator. “Maggie is one of the top BrainSTEPS team leaders in the state. She is passionate about serving students.”

Lockovich lives in Hermitage.
