State police investigate crash in SR that sent man to hospital
SLIPPERY ROCK — A man was hospitalized in Ohio after he was injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Route 258 and Kelly Boulevard, authorities said.
Slippery Rock police are investigating the accident that took place shortly before 5 p.m., but they said this morning that the crash report was not completed and they released no information.
Slippery Rock fire and ambulance crews assisted at the scene and tended to the injured man. The extent of his injuries was not known, said Chief Ken Taggart of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company.
An ambulance later took the man to the Slippery Rock Elementary School, where he was flown by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio.
The man reportedly was driving a car that collided with a sport utility vehicle. The other driver, an unidentified man, was not injured.
Rescuers said the road was snow covered but it was not known if that a factor in the crash.
